Kitchen Design: 

Kitchen design is complicated and knowing where to start, how to go about it and what the end result might be can be difficult. As a kitchen designer my job is to help take the guesswork out of it. By using specific design software I can help eliminate this guesswork and help you get closer to your dream kitchen.

For a renovation I will visit you onsite to get a feel for you existing space and discuss what works and what doesn’t. I will look at the space as a whole to help make sure that the kitchen design works hand in hand with the adjacent spaces, the layout and orientation of the home, and the existing character of the home. For a new-build I will sit down with the plans and discuss how the design of the kitchen will work within the proposed floor plan.

The most important factor in creating a kitchen space is designing a space which meets the needs of the client. It needs to be practical and functional. Kitchens are one of the most functional and task based spaces in the home and that’s why it is critical as part of the design process that I find out how the client wants to use the space, who will be using the space, and ideas around the type of cooking that will take place. This information will help lay the foundations for the initial design of the kitchen and my 3D design package can then help bring this design to life…….

From here we can talk about the different materials and colour options available, along with appliances and fittings that will help to turn this functional space into a beautiful space.

Churton Park Kitchen:

“When it came time to update our small and dated kitchen, Christina helped us see what was possible, not only our kitchen but a completely rethought living space. This out of the box thinking has created a more functional space for our family and future proofed our home. Working with Christina simplified what can often be a complicated process and gave us exactly what we needed.

The new spaces are fantastic. Sometimes it is hard to imagine that kitchen was an old dark dining room and the old kitchen makes a fabulous second lounge. It is one of our son’s favourite rooms in the house. None of this would have been possible without your expertise. We have had nothing but compliments from friends and family about the design so thank you.”

Johnsonville Kitchen:

“Our kitchen and dining room dated from the 90s and showed it - dark, featuring yellow and blue tone, abundant space poorly utilised and capacious but unusable storage.  Cooking was a task to be undertaken in this space, not enjoyed.

We knew it had to change, but were daunted by the scale of change needed and didn't know how to start, let alone what key design concepts we'd need to utilise.

Chrissy expertly talked us through the redesign of our kitchen.  She had awesome ideas and really opened our eyes to what the kitchen could be. Chrissy took the time to understand how we use the kitchen so her ideas were very much tailored for us. We trusted her design ideas due to her knowledge of the design process. 

In the dining room Chrissy suggested we put in a window seat, and at first we were sceptical.  But we are so pleased we put one in: we use it all the time (it was particularly useful working from home during the lockdown).  It is a sun trap and means we can fit a lot of people around our dining table when we have dinner parties.

We now have a beautiful, modern functional kitchen with all the space used and everything positioned where it can easily be used.

We now cook together as a family (husband is a budding amateur sous chef and pot scrubber) and we love how the renovation has completely revitalised the space and how we experience it.”
